Assurance, Attest and Accounting Advisory Services

We are skilled and experienced in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (U.S. GAAS). We offer equal expertise in the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), and individual country specific standards, such as Handelsgesetzbuch (HGB) (Germany).

In an assurance service, we issue a report in which we express an opinion or a conclusion on the subject matter (for example, financial statements). Our assurance services include audits, examinations, and reviews.

In an audit of financial statements, we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance (which is a high level of assurance) about whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement.

Examinations are audit-level engagements designed to provide a high level of assurance on information other than financial statements.

In a review of financial statements, we seek to obtain limited assurance as a basis for reporting whether we are aware of any material modifications that should be made to the financial statements in order for them to be presented in accordance with an applicable financial reporting framework. A review is substantially less in scope than an audit.

Our non-assurance services include agree-upon procedures, preparation of financial statements, and accounting advisory.

An agreed-upon-procedures engagement is an attest service in which we are engaged to issue a report of findings based on procedures agreed upon between us and specified parties at the outset. An agreed-upon-procedures engagement is a non-assurance service in which we do not express an opinion or a conclusion on the subject matter.

An engagement to prepare financial statements is a non-attest service that does not require us to verify the accuracy or completeness of the information provided by management or otherwise gather evidence to express an opinion or a conclusion on the financial statements or otherwise report on the financial statements.
