Handelsgesetzbuch (HGB) is the basic legal act which governs the functioning of enterprises and sets out accounting rules in Germany. Rödl & Partner is well equipped to assist German parent companies that require that their U.S. subsidiaries to provide them with HGB financial statements for consolidating or other management reporting purposes. We regularly assist our clients to identify differences between U.S. GAAP and HGB accounting principles, and to convert the U.S. GAAP based financial statements to HGB based financial statements.
