Rödl & Partner advises PharmaLex on its merger with BioStat Solutions, Inc.

Atlanta, Georgia, October 22, 2020: Rödl & Partner advised PharmaLex Group on its merger with BioStat Solutions, Inc. (BSSI), which specializes in data analytics including statistical and bioinformatics and a focus on biomarker research, drug target identification / prioritization and complex drug, biologic and medical device studies and interpretation.

Rödl & Partner's U.S. transaction services-team led by Frank Breitenfeldt acted as the exclusive financial advisor to PharmaLex Group. Key service areas included buy-side financial and tax due diligence, deal advisory and purchase contract drafting assistance. The transaction was completed on Sep 16, 2020.

The transaction is expected to strengthen the joint statistical solutions service offerings. The BSSI service portfolio is expected to complement the PharmaLex Group’s line-up via increased focus on Bayesian statistics and further tapping into the growing biomarker and bioinformatics market, which are both expected to grow with >13% per annum, according to Dr. Thomas Dobmeyer, CEO PharmaLex.
